Information on the Joint Directive 2/2020. (III. 6.) of Rector and Chancellor on coronavirus related measures concerning mobilities at Szent István University

The aim of the directive is to reduce the risk of coronavirus disease by suspending future mobilities and taking measures with regard to approved and planned mobilities. The feedbacks of partner HEIs and international partners were also concerned when drafting the Directive. (1§)

The effect of the Directive applies to the University and every organisational unit of it as an employer, and to every civil servant, student and university citizen of the university. (2§)

Measures (4§)

  1. Suspension of future mobilities

(1) Future mobilities are suspended including

  • travelling abroad,
  • invitation of international guest,
  • hosting international guest.

(2) Future mobilities cannot be initiated.

  1. Suspension of approved but not started mobilities

(1) All approved but not started mobilities are banned.

(2) Any costs already occurred in relation with the mobility will be considered by the University as force majeure and will be born by the University. However, each parties concerned has to cooperate in reducing the costs (e.g, by cancelling bookings, informing the partner).

(3) Further booking of flight tickets or accommodation is prohibited.

  1. Approved and started mobilities of students, teachers and staff (university citizens)

(1) University citizens returning from mobility – if the mobility concerned any area infected by coronavirus – cannot visit the university for 14 days. Definition of infected areas is governed by the content of the page:  https://koronavirus.gov.hu/

(2) University citizens returning from mobility have to report their return at bejelentes@szie.hu.

a) Provisions related to civil servants

aa) If the civil servant has a computer, laptop or cell phone, he/she has to be available and work from home in working hours. His/her absence is justified as paid absence.

ab) If the civil servant does not have a computer, laptop or cell phone, he/she is not available or cannot work from home in working hours, his/her absence is justified as paid absence.

b) Provisions related to students

Students can continue their studies via Neptun/e-learning, the official university email address or via phone from home. In order to agree in tasks and requirements, students have to contact the competent vice dean and programme leader. The way of communication should be email or phone.

c) Provisions related to other university citizens

Any other university citizen who participated in any mobility cannot visit the university for 14 days.

  1. Approved and started mobilities of incoming guests

The already started incoming mobilities are carried out under strict control. The guest should have the least possible contact. No official program can be organized for him/her.

This directive comes into effect on 6th March 2020 and valid until further notice.
